How a white-label telehealth app works, what patients expect from it, and how to get your brand into the App Store and Google Play without building an app.
Telehealth is ongoing care: refills, check-ins, results and messages. An app makes that easy. Patients sign in with Face ID instead of a password, get a notification when a clinician replies or an order ships, and find everything in one place. For your brand, an app on the home screen means patients come back.
| Option | What it takes | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Build your own native app | Developers, app store accounts, reviews, updates and support | Full control, but the most time and cost |
| Your own listing from a white-label template | A developer account and an app review for each brand | Your name in the store, but each release is your job |
| A shared app that takes on your brand | Nothing to build or publish | Fastest; the store listing carries the platform's name |
Notifications pass through Apple and Google and appear on lock screens, so they should only say that something needs attention, never what it is. Health details stay behind the patient's login. App store health rules also apply, which is another reason to let the platform handle publishing and updates.
Most patients start on your website, often from an ad, a creator or a search. The app matters once they are patients. A platform that runs the same account on the website and in the app means you do not maintain two products.
PExpo patients can download PExpo Health on iPhone or Android, choose your brand once, and then it is your app: your name, logo and colors, Face ID unlock and notifications. It is in beta, and comes with every PExpo brand. See what is included.
